I'm quickly finding out that it's a lot easier to say you have a great idea or plot outline for your novel than it is to actually write it. While I haven't begun (I'm assuming that's against the rules for Camp NaNoWriMo), outlining is proving difficult.
The big reason is probably due to the fact that I have no concept of how large a 50,000 word novel is. I have a decent idea of what I want to happen but I'm not sure how to space it out or if I even have enough ideas to let the work run its course? What if I fall almost ten thousand words short?
I'm sure I'm not the first person to have these pre-game jitters.
We'll see what happens when August hits. I have every intention of completing this so I'm sure I just have to take it as it comes.

Excitement!
My bags are packed and I've got my bug spray. I'm ready to hit the wilderness and set up shop for August 2012 at Camp NaNoWriMo.
I had originally planned to partake in NaNoWriMo back in November but I ended up studying for an exam. That totally sucked and really took the wind out of my sales. No big deal though, Camp NaNoWriMo was taking place in June and August of 2012. I would concentrate on getting a solid plot and do it in June!
June comes around and.. ah, crap.. I have to take that exam again. Ok, no problem, I'll just do it in August. Well, August starts in just 16 short days and I'm all ready to go. I've got my title, I've got my plot and I'm without any major plans for the month.
Oh, here's my idea. I'm still playing around with the summary but I think it pretty much hits all the right spots:
I had another idea but I nixed it in favor of this one. The other idea involved the mob, gangsters and hitmen and I had this feeling that I might be in over my head. I'm also concerned that I would need to do a fair bit of research into the mob business and what not. I think recently watching The Godfather doesn't necessarily count.
Oh, and on an unrelated note, I met my childhood hero a few weeks ago at a local indie wrestling show.

The Last Place You Look
The daughter of recently retired police chief, Frank Martin, has gone missing and her brother, current deputy police chief Sean Martin is hot on the case. Frank however, hires private detective and Sean's best friend, Jack Campbell, to find her.
Believing his father has lost faith in him, Sean resents Jack's involvement. Can Sean's concentration remain on finding his sister? Can Jack stay focused and find Kayla Martin? One thing is certain, everything is always in the last place you look.
